Our rules are pretty simple, but we will explain them anyway:
We are happy to accept your booking, and do not normally require a deposit, however we do require payment in full on delivery, and prefer cash payments. We do not accept credit cards. We can by special arrangement accept payment in advance via direct bank deposit.
We are realistic - if you need to cancel for unforseen reasons, that is fine, you must let us know as soon as possible to avoid us charging a late cancellation fee ($100). We consider the night before too late, but we will consider each case on its merits.
However if we (us and you) decide on the day that the weather is unacceptable, then that's life - you don't get the castle, we don't get paid. End of story - so there is no problem if you are unsure about the weather - we won't penalise you further if the weather is bad - we have been there with our own children.
Delivery - we get some amazing requests - we work in the Auckland area (approx Manukau across to Howick to North Shore and across to Henderson to be roughly speaking "Auckland"), unlike some people who live 50 odd kilometres north of Henderson who swear they are local, even though it is a toll call to call them, really! If you fall into what we deem "Auckland" no problem - delivery is included in the price - but we do have a geographic pricing structure due to the high cost of petrol (as of around mid 2004). Otherwise you are outside of Auckland (to those that get offended when we add from $30 for delivery - tough!) and we will charge a delivery surcharge to cover the extra time / petrol etc. If you are flexible on delivery times we are flexible on the price. Our castle has been used in places like Warkworth, Tauranga, Taupo - even Hamilton! so we can do it if you *REALLY* need our castle.
Delivery times: Lets get this cleared up straight away - Brent is slack and if you have got it for the day, the motivation to leap up at the crack of dawn is diminished, the delivery times are approx 10 am to around 4 or 5 in the afternoon.
As for the castle - the normal rules apply during the hire: No food, drink, shoes, sharp objects or pets are allowed in / on the castle. We are only too happy for adults to get in and have a go (we do). The rest is just common sense.
All damage is your responsibility, and if the castle is in a particuarly dirty condition on pickup, we expect you to provide towels etc. to clean it. If the castle is, in our opinion, excessively dirty we will take the castle away for cleaning and charge you a cleaning fee of $120. As yet this has not been an issue, most of the time a quick wipe with a towel is adequate.
No we do not allow our castle to stay out overnight.
Our bank account number for direct credit is 12-3075-0192776-50. Please note that if we have not made an arrangement to receive funds to this account, do not expect a refund if you put money into it. Any refund is by arrangement BEFORE the money is put into our account. If we have not given deposit instructions, including a reference, we will not be able to identify your payment and therefore are unable to refund you. We think that is fair enough.
